המסוגלות הבריאותית של המרואיינים נבדקה באמצעות שבע שאלות המתייחסות לשלושה נושאים: תפיסת מצב השמיעה, הראייה והניידות, הערכת המידה שבה הבריאות מגבילה אותם בעיסוקים שונים והערכה עצמית של מצב בריאותם ויכולת תפקודם לעומת הדיירים האחרים. מרכיבי תחושת מסוגלות בריאותית של הדיירים וההבדלים בין דיירי שלושת סוגי המוסדות בעניין מסוגלות בריאותית נבדקו באמצעות מבחני חי בריבוע ( ). הממצאים מוצגים בלוח 2.
